Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef flakes, Tetra Color granules, Ocean Nutrition Spirulina flakes etc.
Hi. I just wanted to ask for guidance about food for my upcoming discus. Right now, I have the Cobalt discus flake food that Hans sponsored. I was also going to buy some of the freeze dried black worms from Al. Any other suggestions on food to feed them? Thinking I'll just alternate between those two everyday. The discus will probably be 3.5-4 inches.
Thanks.

I feed mine straight homemade beef heart, Al's FDBlkW, Hikari VibraBites, and Hikari Discus Bio-Gold. They're most excited to eat the FDBlkW, but they do eat just about everything I put in there. Including some of the Cobalt "Hans" flake.
Chopped Red Worms. Shrimp cut into tiny pieces like the red worms. OSI
For mine I don’t feed beef heart. I feed Al’s black worms, vibrabites, tetra color granules, sera discus granules and a mixture of flake foods that I mix together ON prime reef,Cali black worm flakes and garlic flakes. For treats after water changes I feel hakari flozen bloodworms and brime shrimp.
I have always fed my Discus pellets instead of flake. I know people do use flake successfully, but Discus like to graze from the bottom and the pellets will sink.
The worms are great. I feed tubifex because it's less expensive and also farmed in clean water not collected from sewers. I feed three times a day and feed the pellets for breakfast and lunch and give the Tubifex as their dinnertime feast. But what you are planning on doing is just fine.

I think Dan Garcia sells freeze dried Tubiflex in bulk @ https://blackwormsbrineshrimp.com/pr...ex-worm-cubes/

Thank you, Francis!
Are freeze dried tubifex worms as good as freeze dried blackworms?
I get mine from E-bay. I have a ton of tanks so I buy in bulk and keep the extra in the freezer. Is far as I know, Tubifex is equal in nutritional value to blackworms.

Freeze dried Tubifex (from supplier Francis linked above):
Crude Protein - Min. 54.0%
Crude Fat - Min. 9.0%
Crude Fiber - Max. 2.0%
Moisture - Max. 5.0%
Freeze dried Black Worms (from Al's FDBlkW @ aquaticsuppliers.com)
Crude Protein - 66.35%
Crude fat - 13.87%
crude fiber - 0.24%
Moisture - 3%
I did order some tubifex, though I haven't heard anything for almost two weeks so wonder if I should hit them up.
Brine Shrimp Direct has a variety of freeze dried products.
