Got to have one.. 12v air pump
Well you don't have to have one but they can be a real fish saver/life saver.
Some of you may have those battery operated air pumps for emergencies or transporting fish..the ones the run on 2 D size batteries. These are great but if you want to up your prepareness game... look into one that runs off 12v. Its more powerful... more versatile . Comes with airlines, battery terminal clamps and heavy duty air stones. Hook up a car battery or deep cycle battery and you are good to go for hours and hours..
Im currently running one in a 45 gallon barrel while I wait for a new airpump... Im cheating by hooking a battery charger up to an older 12v battery.. then running the pump off that.
Anyhow.. for emergencies.. this is a great pump.. I have a few just incase. Love these pumps.

I'll stick with my generator. It runs the whole fish room plus some important stuff in the house.

Liz a generator is great.. I have several myself and have harped on them here many times.
But.. this 12v airpump fills a much different role than just a power outage. Its a backup airpump that runs extremely well and can easily power many tanks. It can also be wired into a solar panel array to aerate outdoor ponds and tanks. I used one here all summer running off a solar panel and that battery in the pic to raise critters outdoors.
