On wrigglers again! Last batch of eggs fungused so this is their second attempt at wrigglers.
Makes sense. Thank you both. They laid eggs again yesterday, so at least they want to keep trying! lol

So it appears some fry are becoming free swimming today. Parents though don't want them to attach. Every time they leave the cone, the parents pick them up and spit them on the cone. Around 40ish wrigglers on the cone and 5-6 are free swimming at the moment. Is this a learning curve for the parents, or do they want all the fry to be free swimming before they attach?
It's normal. The parents think they belong on the cone. They'll give up once they get swamped with fry.

Enjoy the ride, Carter. It's not unusual for the parents to have 10+ spawns before getting it right. They get a little better each time.
At my age, everything is irritating.
25 or 30 is enough for them to decide to raise. Fewer and they don't think it's worth the effort. Next time they'll give you more kids. It takes time for them to figure out what it's all about.

I've had fry feeding on BBS as soon as 4-days free swimming, and starting early cannot hurt. More importantly is to get some beef heart ready to wean them around 2-weeks free swimming and also start water changes. 90% daily is not too much. That and the beef heart will get them growing in front of your eyes. (BBS is really only good for 2 - 3 weeks.)
