Default a batch of fry on the cone

well-for these pair as of today i am un successful in the parents leaving me any fry...they usually ate the eggs-and the last time around they ate there fry...this time i put a piece of gutter guard around the cone , and now they are wigglers!
my question is-when should i remove the gutter guard?
not for sure if one or both parents are the eaters-but right now both are adults are acting like adults...looking at the fry like there interested-and not trying to get to them and eat them.
i know-for some it takes quite a few tries to get it right..and well-some never get it right...lols
    but im trying here!

Congrats!! Sounds like your idea was a great one. I am not experienced on breeding hence the lack of a suggestion. I just wanted to say congrats.

I don't remove the screens untill the fry attach to the parents, that way the fry have a safe place to go

no need to remove the guard. just let the fries come to the parents.
ie. waiting for the parents to be ready to receive the fries.
    good luck.

I have had my pair eat eggs all the time but when they got wigglers and the saw them moving would not eat them, but probably to be safe keep the guard on, what strain are they? Larry
