Where all do you guys buy bulkheads? I'm thinking of switching from overflows to bulkheads. Any thoughts?

I really like the schedule 80 spears ones you can find at the hardware store. Much much higher quality than the "fish tank" ones that I bought at marine depot.

Thanks for the link. I found similar bulkheads locally, but it took me many days and speaking with many people. I bookmarked the link for future purposes.

might i just add that once you start using bulkheads, you'll soon be asking yourself why you ever used an overflow.
I have a local pond shop that has reasonable prices on bulkheads, but Jehmco is always the go-to source for this stuff.
Jeff
I've never seen better prices at a local store than what Jehmco offers. Take a look at their site. It's likely that you'll need more than just bulkheads. Maximize your shipping with a FULL order of everything that you might need for the project. For instance, you'll need a diamond bit to make the holes.
Best wishes!

i agree. jehmco sells the bulkheads/screens and barbs for cheap, like $5.50. you will pay this just for the bulkhead elsewhere.
Kenny
Yeah, but Jehmco isn't six miles away to swing by and pick up a bulkhead...
One thing that has helped me with bulkheads is to focus on a single size, no matter what the tank size. You can restrict the plumbing after the bulkhead to size the overflow.
Jeff
I make my own. Couple pipe fittings from Lowes and a gasket or o-ring does the trick.
