    Thank you everyone!

    Heiko,

thank you for your exact specification of my strain. I know my wilds look not exactly like what people say it is "Tefe", but you know, they are also not able to imagine what a Jutaí will look like...

But you are absolute right, I will in future add the correct region.
My wilds are more blue in pattern than green, and the fins are all with red edges. The red spots are on "orange juice" colored background, not like the "regular" Tefe, yellow/green shaded base.

My wilds will not have the blue/turquise pattern all over the body, the pattern reaches only the round body, so the spots on the base are very good visible.

I attach some pictures whre we can see different typs. I owned some more and in the last years, one by one, I gave in exchange to reach a homogen group.

I will start to construct my website with new informations about the origin and images of the region in Brasil. Most of us know much to little about the habitat, even I do not know the basic citys in brasil and their geographical coordinates. But I promise to get get a detailed south-america map on the wall :-)

    @sailboat:
the discus on the picture are 9 weeks old, I feed with frozen artemia, beefheart-mix with shrip, salmon, spinach, white mosquito-larves and a mix of different popular granulates from Hikari, Sera, Tetra (to assure that they will have no problems in new sourrounding).

    Hi AlexR,

thanks for the nice comemnts and the beautiful fishes. I must say (although please do not see this as and avert or want-to-sell advert), but having such nice fishes and want to keep and identify rthem correctly you should get Blehers Discus Band 1, there is
every map and every detail of which form where it comes which species, habitat, parameters, etc. etc., from the authentic spot. And probably it is cheaper then the map you want to buy (and less then a single discus...)...

Anyhow, definitely no need to, but helpful if you really want to undertsnd wilds.

    Keep up the good work,

    always

    Heiko Bleher

PS: Did you see the discus biotopes I made? On my website.

Remark No1.: I'm just sitting here, properly gobsmacked.

Remark No2.: I have Heiko's book at hand, and to say the least: I quite like it. There are even pictures of big-titted Brazilian women in it!

Beyond stunning! The nicest RSGs I've seen. Alexr if you are still around what are your water parameters? I've just got some Jutai RSGs but suffice to say they aren't looking anything like yours at the moment.

AlexR has many older posts on here. I believe he talks about his set-up in a few of them. I'll try to search and find one.

Cheers Eddie. I've seen that one I think he directs someone to it in this thread. The colours are just coming through sensationally in Alexr's fish.
