    Default I'm addicted to fish!

Hello my name is Brandon and I'm addicted to fish. I've known this for a while but tonight I realized it. I'm Doug my daily Craigslist searching and I found a 120 with stand filterx4 heaterx4 air pump air stones protein skimmer erc etc for 200 bucks. Mandi says no. I'm seriously contemplating just pissing her off and getting this set up. anyone want to buy some fry to help pay for this puppy!?

I find what works best is compromise rather than doing something that will piss off your soon to be spouse.
Find something she wants you to do or buy for her in exchange for another tank. Win-win. Rather than win-lose. A relationship with win-lose scenarios does not work in the long run. People tend to get resentful, spiteful, feel disrespected, and do not feel like it is an equal partnership.

Yea I know. This is just one of those deals you don't like to see to past you.

Bad idea. That attitude will lead to one if not both people unhappy.

In my marriage at least, I don't need to ask or get permission to buy anything. Nor does my wife. But we also are on the same page as far as what is acceptable spending and what is not. Sometimes we each stretch those boundaries a bit...but no harm-no foul.

Not every situation has to be win-win or win-lose. nothing is wrong with one person 'winning' and the other person just being happy for them.

That said I re-read your original post and if she said "no". Thought you wrote you wrote that she would say no so you were just going to get it.

That is how my marriage works, no permission needed for buying stuff. We keep our money seperate. We each pay half of the bills but can do whatever we want with the rest of our money. I think he spends his money on silly things and I am sure he thinks all the money I spend on fish stuff is silly too. lol

That is the issue; she said no. She will not "just be happy for him" in this instance. So, I think he should find a way to get the tank and find a way to make her happy too. As a fellow fish addict, I would hate to have to pass on such a good deal.

ive been married 25 years, and as long as the bills are paid and everything is taken care of and 1 of us wants to have some fun money to blow nothing wrong with that, i dont tell him no and he doesnt tell me no,, but neither one of us would do something that we know would pi$$ the other off,, in that case we NEED to talk about it 1st,, I do think Trier20 should think how can he make his woman happy enough to be able to get it without a fight,,,I think Pacman must be single,,,LOL

Maybe we are all looking at this wrong

Maybe he needs someone to tell him "no". maybe finding a way to get the tank is not the best idea right now.

    Just a thought

Man Brandon, you're a brave man. Your fiancee is a chef so she's got to be good with a knife. I'd be negotiating a yes somehow.
