Can't wait for 2012. Never been anywhere to see that many discus. On-line, the discus are beautiful -- I can't imagine what they will look like up close!!!!

You are exactly correct! It's truly breathtaking to walk in to a room and see 75-100 SHOW QUALITY discus, these aren't your pet store rejects but prize fish from all around the world. Even better is hanging out with all the other discus folks!

You will love it. The fish are magnificent and you can buy them! And the people all share the same passion as you do. A NADA show is something to treasure. And it only comes 'round once every two years.

I am curious what these "show" fish go for? I am just looking for a ball park figure I'll probably have to sleep in the car if I want any!

Hans was selling ACA Show fish for between $200-$250 each in DC.

Hans is on the high side with his, although at the last show I became aware of a $400. asking price for a fish. The fish was worth it. It won People's Choice, and one of the 3 judges wanted it to be BIS. Thank God it wasn't what I was looking for.

Up to now you can figure on a $200. price tag. Be prepared to pay more if you have your heart set on a fish with a high price tag.

I hope that the sellers don't decide to charge what these fish are worth based on the comment of a lone poor woman who has been cursed with good taste. I'd have nowhere else to buy and would have to quit Discus.

Some of the fish will not be for sale. I tried to buy the spotted winner in 2010 and it wasn't for sale. The Best in Show at the ACA this year was not for sale either, ask Chad he would have bought it. Most others sell for what they would sell for prior to the show. The prices Han's was asking at the ACA was the same price you would have paid if you bought it from his fish house.

Hmmm, a friend of mine asked about that Spotted and was told $400. She passed. I guess she couldn't see paying $400. for a fish.

The Red at ACA was in a class of it's own. Even not having seen it in person it was to die for.
