    Default carophyll pink

I bought some for a beefheart mix, are you supposed to mix this with water and soak your food or just mix it in?

ugh, let me see what can remember

    venison for meat
    shrimp
    salmon
    baby carrots, peas, oatmeal
    spirulina powder
    carophyll pink
    ripe bananas
    garlic powder
    spinach

as soon as I dropped the spinach it turned green, the carophyll pink mixed the color up a bit, lol. I failed to properly dice up the spinach enough. ended up just grinding it all in the meat grinder, my blender didn't do much.

    Hello, I like your mix

venison for meat-Make sure that meat is clean and not fatty, Also Bambi can tend to be a little tuff so I would make you blend very well.

shrimp-Wild not farmed raised is the best to use.

    salmon-Wild not farmed raised.

baby carrots, peas, oatmeal never used the baby carrots in any mixes but I don't see any harm in it. Peas are great just make that you get fresh or canned with no salt. Oatmeal is great as a binder but I found that it tends to want to make the food like a brick. Fish flakes work better IMO.

spirulina powder- Great stuff I highly recommend this but I would go after the spiraling flakes easier for them to digest.

carophyll pink- scoop some in a container with water swish it around if it desolves nice and easy than you have the right stuff. Add the liquid to you mix and mix very well. Also make a batch without the pink because feeding them that everyday is no good.

    ripe bananas-Perfect

garlic powder-Tought to use this from an old soul (BB) if you can figure out the old soul I will tell you guys another ingredient thats a must...

spinach-Blanch not to mushy and should work fine.

    Hope this helps....Josie

    Mike,
Just as in any recipe cooked..the ingredients amounts matter.

Roughly how much are you making? How much of each ingredient?

I always use my shrimp raw ( to the consistency of a paste in the food processor )it acts as the binder to hold everything together and the fish tend to like it more, never try the deer before or any meat like beef because of the talof even on the leanest cuts. I will stick to the classic beef heart. Also veggies are good but watch the proportions. After all they are carnivorous.
    This is just IMHE.

Oh not all the oatmeal and stuff though but the full pack of shrimp and salmon 2# of venison cooked. All the baby peas and carrots and three bananas. The color tells me too much additives not enough meat

When I do a mix I tend to do half meat and half veggies. Since I use spinach and blanch it, once everything is mixed well it is green. I suspect the cooked meat is what the fish are not taking to. I also leave my meats raw.

I think that was your problem. I have always seen recipes have raw meat.
