We are all ears Pat
My contest fish have mostly settled and then I scared them again when I finally removed the foam divider from their tank. I have another project in store for the divider. More on that later.

When Al sent me some of his wild F1s I setup the 40 breeder beneath the 40 breeder which housed the contest fish. The black foam divider was also removed from the contest fish's tank and placed in the 40 breeder setup for the wild F1s. Here's the contest fish having access to their whole tank.

If the discus are happy, I’m happy
looking good, why dit you wait so long to remove the divider ?
Pat, I bought some babies from Al. They arrived today (5/8/19) They are the same breeding as the challenge babies. Al recommended that I read the posts from the challenge. Your post is very helpful. I'm excited to raise these little ones. Gene
Great job, Pat! It's stunning the growth and development on these little guys you got some time ago. Again, great job!
That would be my guess; to two basics types
Blue based

Red based

And then this guy which blue based but the eye color is different

And the whole groupIMG_2798.jpg
Also I informally measured the three largest fish; two turks and the largest SS and all were in the 4.5 inch ballpark.
