They are looking amazing, about as comfortable as they can get in a qt. Those reds are looking really nice

Thanks Tobi, I am still hoping for better even in QT. I want to try your fulvic/humic acid. I will have more questions on that later.

They look amazing, Pat! I love the Heckels, but the reds are gorgeous. In what hardness and RO/tap mix will you keep them?

Thanks Mauro, I target a TDS of about 70 which for me is generally a 2/3 RO to 1/3 tap mix. I am on a well and do get some seasonal variation. With a TDS of 70 that generally gives me a GH (hardness) of about 4 or 5 degree GH using the API KH/GH test kit.

Currently everything is in well water with a TDS of 200, ph 8.2 after aging and the KH/GH of about 11 I think. Been a while since I have tested it.

Thank you for all the info. Here in New Orleans I use a 80% RO / 20% tap mix and I still get a TDS of 124 ppm. KH/Gh is about 36. What hardness should I target to stimulate spawning?

How are you measuring GH Mauro? ppm or degree GH? Using the API GH/KH kit each drop is one degree GH/KH. Take the number of drops X 17.9 gives you ppm. Sounds like you are using ppm?

Hi Pat, I did not want to steal your thread, so I opened another thread about my water parameters:

If you have a chance, please give me some feedback there. And keep us posted about your wonderful acquisitions!

Pat. Please tell me more about Tobi's fluvic/humic acid, or better yet, perhaps Tobi himself will tell us. I'm into natural water conditioners. The two I've used are peat and your tea. Both worked great. The tea even did something that I never expected! Not even the commercial ones have been known to do harm. Inquiring mind wants to know.

Hi Liz, it the last 5 or 6 posts in the thread. I’ll go now and find the brand for the fulvic powder I use and update in the contest thread.
