Default Direct sunlight. Good or Bad?

Hello. I would like to ask if it's Ok for my tank is exposed to morning sunlight? I haven't setup my discus tank yet, but I don't have any other location to move my tank. Usually the sunlight is only 6am-8am (By the way in from The Philippines). Is there any effect on Discus for direct sunlight? Thanks a lot!

I have a couple of tanks like that. It does not seem to cause any real problems for me.

There shouldn't be a big problem if the tank isn't a fully planted tank. If it is, then I'd avoid direct sunlight.

This is just a thought, I have no experience with direct sunlight.
I would check to see if the tank heats up in the morning, I'm not sure the maximum temp flux that a discus can take but I would imagine you would want the temp as stable as possible.

Not real problem. Just couple things to do keep it in check. My bare bottom tank get about 45 mins morning around 9-10:30 depends time of the year. I'll get green algae if i dont wipe often. Another thing , make sure you move slow in front of the tank, your shadow may freak them out if move too fast or sudden. Nothing major

It's usually only an algae issue if it's strong, excessive sunlight for many hours. In a planted tank it can be beneficial if it isn't prolonged.

One of my tanks gets some evening sun. I don't think it matters. Good luck!

My tank has solar tubes. Can't get more direct sunlight than that. No issues. Ran a reef tank with it for years. If you have algae blooms, then you have other issues (water quality). Discus and plants all get natural sunlight in the wild.

Planning to put plants but not that many. Is there any effect on discus if there's a lot of algae? I'll just add more algae eater to control the algaes.

no, none, however, it makes viewing the tank less enjoyable in my exeprience.

Direct sunlight is bad because they will get sun burn. Make sure they get sun screen for UV protection and lots of water so they don't get dehydrated.
