Sounds cheap! My 150g weighed 250 lbs empty. I would want to check for leaks before I took that monster home home! I assume tote means tank.

Jaimie, food grade is best. One like that runs about $180.

yeah close to 300$ at tractor supply. i'm sure something will come up. i know some use trash cans...may have to go that route but hubby isnt too keen on the idea of 2 trash cans filled with water inside the house.

I have two 330's that ill never end up using because I don't know what was in them before. Even bleaching and rinsing them, I'm still too worried. One day ill get around to selling them and make sure I get flipping food grade ones.

For 50 bucks, I'd take a chance! I would rinse it several times then fill it with water and run a canister filter loaded with activated carbon for a few days. Then drop a heater and sponge filter in there then add a test fish or two. If the fish are alive and growing in 3 or 4 weeks, you're probably good to go. This all assumes you have an opening large enough to do all this. If you like, use the water from the tote in an aquarium holding your test fish. For fifty bucks, t's worth a shot. If it doesn't work out, you can sell the tote.

If it works out, let me know. I don't have any stock that I'm willing to cull right now.

I wouldn't risk it. No matter how much you rinse the chemicals have probably leached into the porus plastic.
Try jehmco.com http://jehmco.com/html/water_storage_tanks.html

Ask what herbicide.... though is $100 worth the risk to your health.

ps 1 you will need to clean it
ps 2 doubt anyone buys 250g tote for consumer grade herbiside

No worries not going to do it. I'm just going to wait and see if something comes along.

I wouldn't try it!!! Wait and find a food grade. I have two 330 gallon totes and paid $85 each and that included delivery. Price has gone up a little since I got mine.
