Kanamycin - gram negative antibiotic (bacterial infections)
Metro - flagellates but also used for a number of other treatments.
Furan - Depends on what type but also gram negative antibiotic (bacterial/fungal infections)

Eddie listed it as simple as it gets, its far more complex but that gets the idea accross and the basics established.... techinically they all have anti-bacterial properties. Metro is incredibly versatile, we tend to limit its use.

I will add that you can use kanamyacin for internal infections as it is readily absorbed where nitrofurazone is more for external stuff. Also the kanamyacin dose listed on the medicine containers are much less that the amount recommended for effectively treating fish.

Thats why I mentioned that it depends on the type of furan. Furazolidone is actually very effective on internal bacteria.
