Is this a San Merah?

It looks more like a Virgin Red or may be a Red Cover, where you get it from?

It doesn't look like a red cover. Perhaps it is a cross.

Not a Rose Red, I've had one and it looked a lot different than that. Could be crossed with one though I suppose. I'm thinking Martha hit it on the head that it's some sort of cross.

If it does not have the black circle around the body it would be a San Merah right?

No, it's more all the white through it that tells me it's not a San Merah. San Merah's do often have halos one of the things I liked about them and had me looking for some a couple years back.

You can also see the first stress bar running through the eye. San Merahs do not show stress bars.

Take a look at post 29 - Virgin Red. Best guess, and only a guess, is that it's some sort of a cross with that. I doubt you'll ever know exactly what it is, but at the end of the day the question really is do you like it? I'm assuming this is your fish of course.
