eheim 2213 filter media recomendation

I have a eheim 2213 classic canister I am putting back into use. In the past I would put a coarse pad on the bottom then the ceramic noodles then another coarse pad followed by a fine pad. The problem with this is the ceramic noodles can be a real PITA to clean. I was thinking of just filling it up with the coarse pads. My only issue is I was wondering if this would create too much pressure and slow down the output. Anybody try this.

I use this stuff in my Eheims. That's the only media I use. Doubles as biological media and mechanical filter.

Functional, very easy to clean, and pretty much an infinite lifespan.
