my husband has left me the duty of cleaning the discus tank. water changes and whatnot. my question is how often should i do this? he told me 30% water change twice a week. ive helped him change the water before so i think i can handle that. but as far as the actual cleanup part with that python thing, do i suck up the stuff on the bottom? like not remove the rock but see if anything comes up while i put the python onto the gravel?

he said something about nitrate getting high? tbh i dont know too much about it so i want to impress him.
thanks for any help. :confused::confused:

Tell us about the tank itself, how big, how many discus, type of filtration and how is your water (meaning tap water, aged tap water, RO water etc).

Depending on the size and how many fish and how often you are feeding the 30% twice a week may be ok, but more detail would help.

Good Luck!
