What is the best carnivorous bottom feeder to add to a discus community tank to help keep the bottom clean by eating left over worms and beef heart?

Plecos may eat the food but they will replace it with (what seems like) twice as much poop. Don't get me wrong I still like my plecos but they are not magical vacuums.

I'm thinking the temps might be a bit too high for them too, no? My guy at the lfs uses brazilian sting rays in his tank. little pricey at 130 bucks but look awesome and apparently enjoy the same water stats

I have L213 plecos (a type of ancistrus) in my discus tanks and they do fine at 85F. Reticulated stingrays are pretty cool they need a decent amount of bottom space eventually.

Bristlenose. They are fine at discus temps.

You might be good with a small Synodontis. I do agree with the Bristlenose Pleco, though.

I went with Khuli Loaches, seem to be doing great.

Khuli Loaches are a good choice, but sometimes they may not be as active as you want them to. They still are great bottom feeders, though.

Yea, the focus is meant to be on the discus and these guys are pretty cool when you do spot them so I don't mind it. I caught them this morning when i threw the lights on in the tank and they went hiding right away. Definitely seem to have picked up some leftover flakes from the night before. Do they get much bigger?

I started out with 6 small Geophagus Surinamensis, but as they got bigger they started to get more aggressive with my Discus so I took them out and took them back to my LFS. I miss them though because they where good sand sifters.
