60 gal tank has been up and running for over a year, had substrate (gravel bottom) removed 3 months now to bare bottom. Currently have 2 sponge filters and hob emperor 400 w bio wheels no carbon.
I had a slight jump in ammonia levels right after removing gravel but added 2 capfuls of micro bactor7 everyday and ammonia levels have dropped down to .0. but PH will not rise its 6.0 or maybe lower my tester dosnt show below 6.0. have 2 2inch discus in tank I change 50-75% water everyday with 24hr aged and heated tap water which has 7.6 ph, 120gh, 40kh, nitrates 0, nitrites 0 from the tap.
With daily water changes how come my PH levels dont rise I dont add any buffers to the tap water except stress coat
currently tank readings 180gh 0kh 6.0ph 0 nitrites 0 nitrates ammonia .25 ppm. Im curious as to why PH wont rise at all.
Im in the process of setting up a 30 gal to move fish over to so I can completely tear down the 60 for a good cleaning just curious as what is going on in this 60.
