US/Canadian Piwowarski Red Turquoise Benefit Auction for Simply

Dear SimplyDiscus Friends,

I am pleased to announce that Kraig has kindly agreed to donate an additional six four inch Alex Piwowarski Red Turquoise for a second auction here on Simply. Proceeds from the auction will be used to support the forum and help keep it strong into the future.

Also Canadian members can participate in this auction in two ways: If they are near the Canadian/US border and can arrange with Kraig to pickup fish within the US.

Also Canadian Simply member Moon has kindly offered to have the fish shipped to him and he will ship the fish to a Canadian winner. Moon will pick up the fish in the US, pay the taxes to bring them over the US/Canadian border. The winner will be required to pay any border taxes and to have the fish shipped from Moon to the winner.

Also the winner will need to assume any risk once the fish arrive on the Canadian side and hold Kraig and Moon harmless for any losses.

The auction will end Sunday December 9th at 11:59 PM EST. You must live in the US or Canada to participate in this auction.

The opening bid is $100.

Kraig, do you know if Bellingham, Wa. airport is serviced by Delta Airlines ? (rather than Seattle)

If it is (and I can't imagine why not - it takes a lot of Canadians all over the U.S., and to many of the warm vacation spots off the mainland), and you can ship there, I'll bid $400., so should I win, I could pick them up myself.

That's a $400. bid, subject to confirmation the fish can be shipped to Bellingham, Wa.

I knew that Delta had passenger service into Bellingham, but didn't know about cargo/freight service.

Nothing to do with Joe Moon, but I would simply have much preferred to pick the fish up myself (if my bid succeeded) as I live only 30 minutes from the Bellingham airport, not counting border crossing wait times.

No matter in any event, as I've since been outbid. But it was worth a try.
