Well my pair finally layed and fertilized the eggs last night. But now this morning the male is really aggressive towards the female. Poor girl she keeps trying to go up and help fan the eggs and they have been fighting and she ends up backing away. He seems very attentive and fanning well but is this a common problem with the pairs? Will they work together once they are free swimming or should I seperate them? Let the male raise the fry?

I usually leave them both together but if your worried you can take her out or get egg crate to separate them leaving the eggs on his side

Well decided to leave them together. He has been mellowing out recently, maybe it was just a beginners thing for him. Who knows. Dont expect to have babies this time around anyways because they are in a community tank. Will seperate them from the other discus and put them in their own tank. Maybe its all the commotion with the other fish in there, who knows. Time will tell. Thanks
