Grow out Tank

Hi guys I have 4 7cm Discus in a 30g grow out tank.At what size should they be moved into a bigger tank?

Honestly if your doing proper maintenance on ur tank you could keep 4 discus in a 30 gallon there whole life


It all depends really because EVERYTHING MATTERS.


But when you say "grow out tank" I'm envisioning a bare bottom tank with no other fish in it with a sponge filter that u clean regularly and do at least 90% water changes at least 3-4 times a week. Obviously more is always better.


But if that describes ur tank you can leave them in there as long as you want.

Yes it's a bare bottom tank with 1 bristle nose and the 4 Discus.25% water change daily.

When they get a bit bigger, you might want to do larger water changes. For now it's okay. I've kept 6 discus in a 29 gallon tank before, but I wasn't that good on water changes yet, so after a few months(and one of them a year) they all died. You don't really need to get a grow out tank, but it's recommended.
