water changes???

Is it just me or does everyones fish freak out and eat their eggs right after/during a water change?

My pairs are use to me doing their water changes right before they spawn but out of the blue a couple days later with no reason, they eat them up.

Not sure if we will ever understand the fish world and why they do what they do, but I will tell ya, if all my eggs hatched and all my fry grew up I would have to build an addition to my home to house them all with all the spawns that were eaten.
