Hey barb got your caves a couple days ago, really fast shipping. They arrived in tact and look great! Just what i was looking for, no sharp corner for my african dwarf frogs to hurt themselves on and now they shouldnt be burrowing under the driftwood so i dont have to worry about them drowning anymore. Heres a few pics of what i have so far, just went to get the driftwood today so i need to soak it, i just couldn't resist putting some stuff in to see how it looks ;).

The new hardscape. The pieces actually touch the front pane so they go from front to back, gives the frogs LOTS of cover.

I will be adding MUCH more plants, and painting the back brown, but i love the way the caves look and im sure my frogs will love them too :). I dont like the river rock, but i have to use it since its smooth and big enough the frogs cant eat it, its also being used to cap some flourite. Ill be sure to update this with pics as i progress, shouldn't be more then a few days until the frogs move in along with my beta and BN pleco since im just going to transfer their filter over. I plan to have a wall of jungle val in the back, i have some small anubias nana for the foreground that ill attach to a couple small pieces of wood when i can find some, some java moss on the driftwood and maybe some banana plants. Thanks again for the super fast shipping especially during the holidays!

Well, they look just great Matt! I think your frogs will enjoy that tank and it will be interesting for you to watch. I like the plans you have for it and look forward to seeing your frogs in there too. I think you are my first customer to use my caves for frogs. Thanks for your post and especially the pictures! Good luck with the tank and keep us posted on the progress,
Barb

Thanks barb! When you start pottery again i was planning on asking you about some custom BIG huts for african clawed frogs (they get to about the size of the huts lol) ;). Cant decide whether or not to turn an old 55 into a big frog tank or my first marine tank, though the frog tank would be dirt cheap compared to the marine tank ;). Going out of town tomorrow so ill probably pick up some more plants while im there.

You are welcome Matt, I will be glad to make some big huts for your big frogs. Can't have too many aquarium plants, I want some more myself. Looking for some good swords to grow in clay dishes I make for my discus and angel tanks.

Finally got around to moving them. I had to deal with one of my frogs having a stroke, so i got delayed moving them for a long time, i had to put him down a month ago, and just haven't had a day to devote to moving them until today. However im loving it so far and the frogs are freaking out as well as the betta but thats to be expected.

The first frog finally decided to explore the caves after an hour.

Full tank shots. You can see the betta perching on the wood like he used to in his old tank.

And the betta, i wish i could have gotten a better shot, but he wasn't having it.

I just thought this was interesting, the little anubias nanas roots were huge when i took them out of the old tank.

I still need to fill up the back with jungle val for the betta and maybe add some random plants here and there. Thanks again for the caves barb!

Edit: My betta wanted a cave of his own i guess. Until one of the frogs kicked him out.

Thanks for the update Matt, good pics! You have a nice looking frog tank there. Someone else ordered these caves for her bettas, and they use them. I didn't know Bettas like caves but they seem to. A frog with a stroke? How did you determine that?

Thanks barb. I ruled out it being a disease because these frogs shed and eat their skin, it has alot nutrients and the other frogs will eat it too, so if one frog had a disease all the others would have it and the others were fine. I ruled out a heart attack because he was still alive after the first day. He was twitching every now and again and looked like his left arm was paralyzed. Sometimes they recover but this guy just kept degrading.
