I spooked my discus this morning and two of them banged into and around the sand.
They lost a few scales and scraped their bodies.
I was thinking of treating this with Melafix. However the Melafix directions say not to do Wcs while treating.
Anyone know a better way to treat discus with scrapes or is it okay to maybe just do spot siphoning if very little water is swapped?
Thanks for any info

Should I use salt? If so I can use any kind that's non iodized right? Even table?

They should heal fine with just daily water changes alone. No medication needed.

Do nothing different but watch the injuries closely to make sure there are no complications.

Also, I was treating a touch of fin rot on a discus who previously jumped out.. Melafix? If so is it okay to do spot siphoning? Thanks

Melafix is crap, clean water and they will heal right up no problem. If you want to add some salt that is fine.

Thanks for the input everyone. Glad to hear Wcs should do the trick. Theyre usually pretty key, I'll get started!

I spooked my fish 2 weeks ago and one of the discus scraped his forehead good. I did nothing accept water changes. Today I couldn't tell which fish had hurt himself. Discus are just tough that way.

I agree with everyone else. There's no better meds than good clean water
