How large its the tank? What else is in there. How much food are they eating, and is there any left over when they are done eating? Pictures of the fish can also help us help you. You should be able to post pics after a few more posts of your own. Also how long have you had the fish and how large were they when you got them?

then more/bigger WCs feeding BH 5 times a day with only a 30% WC is lacking in the WC department.check this out they only feed twice a day and do this twice aday and its also a farm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWMnPZKJWaE

I feed heavily as well, and I change water like there is no tomorrow. My one tank is running a sump for a total volume of 130 gallons so far today I've changed 100 gallons. Water quality is a big thing when growing out!

More wc is key for bigger discus

yep, simply following the WC extravaganza is best for discus. Barebottom helps, crazy feedings help, certain water parameters help, gallons per fish help, temperature helps, aeration helps, number of fish in a group help,... BUT... all those end up culminating to WC. Even if you look in the planted section and find those that had younger discus grow out then of all else they were disciplined enough to keep up with the WCs. Some had "relaxed" WCs of once per week with huge WC with the average amount of fish per gallon yet still managed to achieve some damn good size (semi-biased; 6" plus per fish). Regardless... water change, water change, water change yet stick to your freakin' routine (and document so we can all follow!).

Wow that is a heck of a system. Looks kinda stressful for the discus.

+1 on the picture request.

ok so they are approximately two an half to three inch discus and you have eight of them in a 55g tank.
The first question is how old are they and what kind?
What discus Farm did you purchase them from?
Are you just feeding beef heart or a beef heart mix?
Why are you saying pairs do you feel that you have four breeding pairs in the tank?
Why are you in such a hurry to grow them out?
Whats your goal with them?
Are you a troll or a real person LOL..LOL..JK?
