It looks like they grew a lot. The fish look 4-5" to start. What size were they and how big are they now? Any secrets that let your fish grow so fast? Good color too!

They were +/- 2.5-3" when I got them. The fish on top in today's pic I am guessing around 5" now. I've not done actual measurements, though.

Clean water, clean water, and clean water. :)

Very nice selection. But where are the blue guys from the first picture?

Sadly, they did not make it. :(

Thank you, Jeff. I'm happy with how they're turning out. :)

What strains? I can tell one is some type of pigeon. :)

The two on either side are pigeon blood and the other two are supposed to be blue turqs, but I would not be surprised if that was incorrect. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can tell us for sure.

Yeah. Looks more like a red turq or red scribble. But it's definitely not a blue turq.

Sandy, they eat a homemade frozen beef/seafood mix, fdbw, and discus flake. I might on occasion slip them some frozen bloodworms ;)

They do get some awesome blue going on at times, but for the most part, not. I've read about fishes "bluing up". When does that typically happen? Does anyone think these guys will blue up any?

Sometimes its the lighting. I used to have a discus that was normally a blue and red, then would change to a green, the a blue, then back to green, and back to normal. It always happened when it was moving around, so I suspect it was the lighting.

I'm getting a new light soon. Nothing fancy, but I read on some thread that Colormax is a nice light to pop the reds and blues. I plan on looking for one of those shortly.

I like colormax bulbs, you definetly have to try them.
