Growth Rate of Wilds

What is the growth rate I should expect for wild discus at the 4" - 5" range? Do you feed them a lot to enhance the growth rate as you do with domestic juvies?

I got a group of young Tefe about the size you have now in March of 2011 and they started breeding Feb 2012 and have matured a lot last year. I am not convinced they are done.

Pat - just read thru your thread. I must have read it before deciding on the Tefe's. It's only the third day, they really settled in well and seem to have good appetite for everything. I love the halo they have on their body. What is the size of yours after a year? Do you still have them?

Also they seem to be quite aggressive. I guess they're sorting out their pecking order right now.

The males are all over six inches and one is close to seven. The females are a solid five and a half inches. They are nothing fancy but still gorgeous fish.
