Dear All

I require urgent help as my discuss is really sick it appears to me like white spots of fungus but the symptoms look like columnaris
the fish has turned ful black with white patches all over, the head is a bit bigger than it was usually and it is not willing to swim much, the good thing is it still feed but to a little extant

2 discuss large
i have 375 gallons L-4ft W-1.5Ft H-2-ft acquarium
also other tank mates are black 7 black neon tetra, 5 guppies, 2 cory doras

i have tried couple of medicines and was able to heal my other discuss
but this one its not showing any signs of cure

lastly i tried ethromycin also tried salt dips as well
PH level is around 7.5 (Tested with API kit)
Ammonia tester are not availbale in my country :(

Last water change done about one day a ago (40% water change)

I am confused...a 4 X 1.5 X 2 tank is nowhere near 375 gallons. Need pictures and a much better background. Probably need to fill out the disease form.

I think he meant 375 liters, which is incorrect too. It is a 90g or 340L tank.

Sorry it was a type its 75 gallon tank and DISEASE QUESTIONNAIRE is given below

1- Please explain the problems with your fish/when and how they started
I have two discuss adults, both of them were sick one had bloat and poppy eyes i managed to get it back to help, but now my other discuss has turned black with withe spots all over it, not feeding, breathing heavily and staying at the top of the tank or sometime on gravel

2. Symptoms
turning dark, not eating, clamped fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/ white zits on fish, white pacthed on body and scratching with plants


3. What medications/ treatments that you have already tried and results. Include dosages and duration of treatment.
I previously used AZOO magic medicine to heal my other discuss which is fine now, and now i used ethromycin to get rid of gram negative becteria as it looked to me like a columnaris infection

4. Tank size and age, number and size of fish
75 gallon tank split by glass in middle so other fish cant go to discuss side but water can flow from one side to other
2 discuss adults, 7 black neon tetras, 5 guppies, two angels normal size, two cory doras very small and two clown loaches very small

5. Water change regime/ how long has tank been running/ bare bottom or gravel/ do you age your water?
once a Week 40% water change

6 Parameters and water source;
temp 30 degress celcius

PH 7.4

couldnt figure out amonia and test kit is not available yet

municipal water yes

7. Any new fish/plants added recently

No

i will be really grateful to all for support as in my country there are not many who have the knowledge about aquarium and aquaculture esp discuss fish :(

You need to up the water changes once a week 40% is not enough. Give them 75% daily, most of the problems start with bad water. Do use Seachem Prime or Safe to remove chlorine/chloramine from your tap water.
