I just purchased a five stage r/o unit,and my ph is 8.5 what should it be?

Brand new? You have to run new units for awhile to break in. Is everything put together correctly?

Are you asking what Ph your Discus should be kept at or what Ph the RO unit should create?

You can keep Discus in almost any Ph. My Ph is about 8.7 - 8.8 and when I'm not breeding my fish live fine in that water. My RO unit brings my Ph down to about 7.1. Ph is really irrelevant as long as its not fluctuating too drastically.

If you're trying to breed you need to be focused on TDS.
