My Wayne transfer pump shot sparks about 3 feet out of the brush housings shooting the screws that hold the brushes in across my kitchen and welding the brush leads into the motor. Scared the crap out of me. I decided to try out these pumps from kensfish:

So far it seems to work great much faster and quieter than the wayne pump, plus they are on sale at the moment.

Are you using it inline or submersed? If inline, dose it self-prime?Just started shopping around this morning.Thanks.

I've been using it submersed but tomorrow I'm going to get some more 3/4" hose to try it inline. I will post the results

sent from an undisclosed location using morse code

I wish I could try one to down grade from my Wayne Transfer pump. I'm using it to pump refill water into the tank up 14 Ft from the basement. The Wayne gets the job done but stirs the tank way too much. Especially the initial blast.

The Triton specs are:
Triton 3: 850 GPH Shut Off Height 7.2 Ft. 30 Watts
Triton 4: 1050 GPH Shut Off Height 10.5 Ft 40 Watts
Triton 5: 1350 GPH Shut Off Height 13.0 Ft 60 Watts

Does that mean that even the Triton 5 will stop pumping instead of pumping it up 14 Ft? 14 Ft x 0.433 psi/ft = 6 psi

What is the URL for the manufacturer and manual?

Yes that is how high they will pump. For $50 going from a barrel to a tank up say 4 feet they work well and silently. Pumping up 15 ft requires some more oomph.

That's a heck of a straight line Bill, but I'm not looking to get put in time-out by Pat.

So this pump doesn't self prime so does not work well as an inline transfer pump. I went back to using it as a submerged pump. Its a good pump to keep in your water change barrel or to drop in a tank to drain it fast..

Sorry to hear that Bill.

They're more expensive aren't they?

Havent looked into it enough, but the larger gph's dont seem to self prime.I actually picked up what looks like a knock off of the wayne pc2 from Menards, and was leaving it in the box to see what happened here.Maybe Ill start a thread on it this weekend when I have used it.

The Triton 5 has an adapter with a air line that you can manual prime it or use one of the dosing pump to prime it if you plan to use it as inline.
