Just a reminder Al,after we talked,Age your water 24hrs,and try to do water changes every day for awhile. If you cant, focus on the aging,I think your having a ph swing. Also,Chicago messes with thier water, especially in the winter in preperation of the lake freezing.

To really check your ph,fill a 5 gal bucket, check it,areate it for 24hrs,then check again.

Took 5ml water from the fish tank - ph 7.4

Then 5ml from my aging container - ph 7.6

is 5 gal bucket makes a difference?

Greater volume of water is more stable.Unless you just filled your aging barrel, dosent really tell you anything except its a little higher.

Will have eye on PH, looks ok to me.But not sure whether i added more prime to the storage water, it can impact as well?

Dont think prime would create that slime build up. You can dose it in extreme conditions up to 5x the doseage. I think the advise given is right. Age water 24 hours with airstone and or power head or pump. Stay up on WC everyday...

My prime bottle smells rotten , is this the actual smell? else this bad prime caused the fish to stress..
