Just purchased two diaphragm 40 LPM@1.5 PSI air pumps hooked up one of them to one of my aging barrels turned it on and works great. Lots of movement in the water and is better than the one I replaced. I smelled the aging tank and noticed a strong Odor of some kind of chemical and I realized that it was comming from the air pump, I disconnected the air pump and of course dump the water in the barrel and flushed it out. Then I called John at Jehmco where I purchased them from and he said it happens sometimes and will go away. Has this ever happened to anyone?
Thanks....Josie

Ive got a linear, but assuming the diaphram is rubber, could it just be the new rubber getting its first work out?Kinda like "new car smell"?
