This is this pair first attempt. Male was not really making the run.

These two probably don't have the best shape out of my 6 but getting them to produce so I can grow out there babies is the goal. I am just curious to see the result of the offsprings.

Thanks.. just hoping that this could be another pair. I have a feeling it's 2 male though. I really like the spots on their gills.

Van, they look good too nice shape. Is it the pic or they have a bit ragged fins.

Yes.. I was having some issue with the fins on these discus months ago. Issue is gone but it left some ragged fins. I think they can be trimmed and grow back normally but not really going for show discus. It actually make them more wild looking.

On a good note, the pair posted in the first pic has confirmation. Only about a dozen of wigglers today but I clean up the eggs since so many were not fertilized. I wait for them to spawn again in a few weeks. Hope I get a much higher percentage next time.

Looking good!...You're not going to see 'two females' type action from these wild crosses..that's inbred city stuff!..my fry are doing great from all pairs....

Van,

That is great that you have a confirmed pair. Like Gary mentioned I have not had any same sex issues with mine. I am up to 4 confirmed pairs and the funny thing is none of the pairs are only finelines. Out of the 4 pairs only two have really figured it out to raise fry to the brine shrimp feeding stage. Those are only small batches to date. The confused pairs get a nice hatch and then right after attachment which has been good lay another batch of eggs and eat the free swimmers. They hopefully will figure it out soon. Good luck with your wigglers.

Van, Jim, and everyone else..This is about all I have for new contributions to this thread..
This pair produced and raised a nice sized spawn..Unfortunately, I dropped the ball and transfered them to a tank with something awry, and lost most of them

From my first producing pair, here are offspring from their first spawn. The Heckel X/ Giant Blue Turq cross..Bad light, and they didn't want to 'play', as I jus clicked the overheads on...

Hopefully, they'll all continue spawning....despite our best intentions..(no good deed goes unpunished,eh?)

Gary,

To bad on that larger batch. The Heckel/Giant fry are looking nice. Hopefully they end up to be dinner plate's.

Thanks Jim,

The previous batch of wigglers were minimal. Waiting for the next spawn to see if they are progressing. Not sure if I have the time to grow out frys but for these, I would make the time. What's a few hours less sleep a day?

Rod and John,
Not to hijack Van's I will post pictures on my original thread hopefully later today. Travel has been crazy ever since Sandy happened.
