Today during wc i noticed my pigeon blood was acting very funny at the top of the water between the heater and intake , he was territorial and didn't want to move as i was vacuuming the bottom with the hose , i think he is a male, then he started biting my finger lol , i grabbed the camera and played a bit with him , never saw a discus act like this before .
they are very docile during feeding and i can pet them easely , but during wc that was the first time !!
anyone else fish does that ?

Not with a discus, but I used to have a big female maroon clownfish that would really nail me if I wasn't paying attention. My discus head behind some driftwood during water changes.

Don't mess with Discus!!! :)
Mine do peck when I pat them or have my hand in the water. It is only playful pecks and no aggression.
The only time I've had my Discus get agressive with me is when they are protecting their eggs. Then watch out :)

So I never really paid attention to this. I have a group that follows my hand around the tank and pecks at it. Two of them in particular.

I have several that peck at my hands during WC's. They are the ones who are always begging for food and are the first to strike when food enters the tank. I think it's a conditioned response with them, they expect your hand to have treats in it.
Now when they are sitting on eggs it's a whole nother matter. I've been bitten and chased several times by my more aggressive breeding males!
I don't think I've ever been bit by an aquarium fish. But I was knocked on my butt by an electric eel a couple of times.
ps. I finally put a ground wire on his aquarium.

Mine are used to me hand feeding so I get harassed by them every WC.

:bandana: Agree. Other than that they're usually on the opposite side from where I'm cleaning. Now back in the day I used to have a 'Jack Dempsey' who was ready to 'put em up' the minute my hand hit the water. lol lol "T"

This was an unexpected interaction but has become the norm in my aquarium.
Started with discus expecting them to freak out, lay down and hide alot based on what I had read. Quite the opposite! They follow me everywhere and if my hand goes in the tank it is fair game.
Beautiful fish you have there chipmunk636.

Great video and peculiar behaviour though they may just be looking for food.

He is definatly not looking for food, he just protect his spot !! He don't do that if iam not entering his specific spot , between heater and intake .
