I have more or less concluded from experience now that if you add black water extract, or driftwood that adds tannins to the water, into a tank with a UV on it, the UV destroys the additive. Have you found this? The UV manufacturer confirms this and Tetra confirmed it and then denied it in one telephone call. Neither tech department knows what the extract is destroyed or transformed into...or whether it still has beneficial action after being UV'd.
