Sometimes you just need to switch it up!!

Ok so the other night after I stopped showing my pairs the picture of Brandon's lovely pair with fry on their back, I decided to try a different approach. It was obvious that Barry White, lowrider oldies and Barry Manilow were not working. Actually I had one fish just spin in circles when Barry Manilow started playing. Or maybe that was me. No, no I was the one covering my ears as my dog started to howl. Anyway I ranted and a raved and then I got control of myself. I decided to take a walk and think of a plan to get them interested in spawning. I thought to myself babying them is not working, sleep deprivation is not working, Adult discus movies were not working. The mood music and strobe lights all for naught. Time to take drastic measures. Time to tell them a bedtime story with props. I settled on my little stool with a warm cup of hot chocolate. I looked at each and every fish making sure they were all looking at me and I began the story. It went a little something like this

I honestly think I scared the heck out of them.

Oh and the Voyeur and Gidget are cleaning their cone. The sad part about it all is I do not believe the water was right in any of the tanks, but hey they spawned. Sometimes you just need switch it up. ;)

Woot!!!!!!!!!! Ps sometimes a really sharp knife isn't good for cleaning fish. The knife will go through the bones leaving you with more work as a somewhat duller knife will pass over the bones ;)

It did not make a difference to the Piwo Cobalts at all. Wrigglers everywhere. And you are right I was tired of living vicariously through you and Brandon’s pictures. Now let’s get fingers crossed for attachement.

Ok we've got some issues going on over here the house of Geh-Tao. I am in shock. I know have 6 pairs on eggs. The most shocking part of all of this is The Voyeur made runs over the eggs. I am thinking I need to apply for discus welfare. Do you think they might have government bbs instead of cheese?

Well the SS have kept the numbers low with only about 70 wrigglers. No need to suck up any eggs...lol or go on discus welfare just yet. Maybe I will just have to go on a Top Ramen Mac and Cheese diet if all these batches make it until I send them off to boarding school.

OMG. Wes that is exactly what I looked like except I was wearing black, all black.

I have absolutely no idea how these fish spawned back to back. The TDS was all over the place in each tank. I am however very happy to say the CuriX and her LETi male have all white eggs. They were in straight tap thank goodness.

It is now a waiting game of stress for attachment. The Piwo are going free swimming today. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys!!

OMG it totally is. The male has given up and is just sitting in the middle of the tank darkening up. The female is watching over the bunch that are still on the cone. Just spitting them back on. Its the ones that just swim at the top of the tank that make me anxious.

Not even gone for a few days. Just wrigglers at 7:30 AM and attached at 5:00 PM. This has been like the perfect batch of fry, except for the one jumper.
