I used to feed frozen bloodworms and am about to get back into discus, wondering how often I should use FDBW instead? Also how long do they last and what is the typical order in grams? I am looking to grow out some 2 inchers and will probably feed mainly Beefheart and flake, then supplement with brine and FDBWs. Thanks

I purchase the 200 gram bags for my adult discus, so hmmmm, maybe start with a 50 gram bag? That should last a month or two. So long as you keep the bag closed tightly so no moisture enters they'll stay nice and fresh.

For feedings, I started with a half cube and then adjusted upwards in increments till I figured out how much mine would eat at each meal. They gobbled down a half cube like it was nothing. LOL

At 4" they were eating 3-4 cubes per meal.

Hope that helps. I'm sure others will chime in who have raised 2 inchers on FDBW's.

100g for $28 shipped is a great deal. Your fish will thank you.

do they float? I see in videos everyone presses the cube against the wall of tank? Do you order the large cubes or small?

Anyone use the bio-pigment plus?

Yes, the cube will float that's why many press it onto the glass. My Discus will eat them if it floats, on the glass, or even as loose dry worms.

Yep you can go to my growout log on this page and go to update 2/9/13 http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?99567-Alanquer-grow-out-log/page12&highlight=alanquer+growout+log and look at the results, or go to als sponsor page and under the bio pigment section another person has posted results as well. As for my feeding schedule, ive foud my fish generally eat 2 whole cubes in a reasonable amount of time, 8 juvies around 4-5 inches, and i feed em 6 times a day.
