Hi Guys, an update of my wild discus tank...

Had always wanted a single strain wild discus tank, but apparently my itchy hands do not permit it to even stay as a single strain tank. Or maybe blame it on the great LFS in Singapore.

Firstly... the very first residents of my discus biotope, "Single Strain"... the Heckels... were sold, becos of my impulsive purchase of the WC Heckel cross, they are beautiful nonetheless. Again back to "Single Strain" WC Discus Biotope.

Things are good, all are well for a week, until I visited another LFS after knowing they had some H&K shipments in and itchy hands did it again purchased one of his "red red wild", placed it in the tank and itchy hands wanted some more... went back got myself two more "Alenquer red".

After all mixed in... realize some of the heckel cross don't match the pack. therefore sold some to a couple of friends...

Now these are whats left in my United Amazonia Tributaries Wild Discus Biotope.

Hope the itchy hands stop here....

These are whats left of the WC cross, they seem to have a orange base, interesting to see how they develop.

Sometimes living too close to good LFS may not be a good thing....

Nick, first off love your red Alenquers BUT you have this all wrong. Instead of selling off the heckel crosses you simply need another tank :). I have a group of Cuipeua (from the Alenquer region), a group of green Tefe's and a small group of Heckels.

Space is truly a big issue for Singaporean, really wish that I had that space to accommodate somemore tank. I have another 8ft monster fish tank and one small planted. Love them all... Only one more discus tank that's what you see is allowed, and that's an order from my CEO, my wife... Haha...

Nicklee, I know how to influence the CEO. Simply explain to her that if you are not getting another tank she will be well butchered and she will be fishfood and last for three months! That should work! unless she knows the three little words no man ever wants to hear, subpoena, divorce, alimony!

Nick, that is for sure a very nice tank. If anything, your wife should be proud of the work you've done with it. Congrats

Really like what you've created there Nick, looks great. If it was me I'd always want to stick to the one type of discus, but you do have some lovely specimens, so I can see why you were tempted.
