Hi. My virgin red pair that have had fry before are now laying eggs again. The problem is that when the female is trying to lay eggs the male keeps "pushing" her away like he doesn't want her to lay them.
What does this mean and what can i do?
Thanks :)

You have the same issue I had reported in my thread below. He's new and given time he'll figure it out.

Same issue I had last night. He then proceeded to eat the eggs as she laid them on the spot.. That is why this hobby sometimes requires lot's of patience, as not necessarily will they parent raise the next go around from a successful previous spawn.

I have exactly the same problem... the male eats the eggs right when the female has laid some. Well, guess there is nothing to do but wait.
Thanks again.

I noticed the same thing last week when 2 of my females were laying eggs.....it was so frustrating to see the poor females wanting to lay, and not being able to. Finally the male just ate all of the eggs. In the past, he was happy about the eggs and cared for them like a good boy. I don't understand the change in him!
