Power head for discus fish?

I was curious to see if it would be a good idea to put a powerhead in my 55 gallon tank. Figure it would help with the filtration a little bit more even thought I have a aqueon 75gal hang over filter. I also heard with a powerhead it can help the fish grow.

i was wondering the same thing. how about a powerhead and a swiss tropicals foam as a filter instead of air pump?

I've never used it for filtration purposes. But, they're good for hearding poo into a single spot in the tank if you angle it right. Doesn't take much flow depending on the length of the tank.

Ive used that type of setup on hospital tanks and QT tanks. Never tried it in my main bare bottom display tanks though.
The sponge got clogged up quicker.........
