Ok all day my discus move around in tank with lights off soon as i turn light on to watch at night they kind of hide unless i feed them.I have a 40 breeder what type of bulb or light do i need.

it took a tank of mine.. WEEKS to be ok with light on.. all tanks take on a different personality..

Since most of my lighting on my pairs and growout tanks are 48" shop lights from Home Depot with 10k bulbs (about 14 inches above the tanks), it appeared that some of my growouts were a bit skiddish for awhile. I just went back to Home Depot and picked up a cheap piece of smoked plexiglass and put it over the glass tops. This dimmed the lights a bit and calmed them down during the day. I did this for about a month then slowly slid it off a couple inches a day until they got use to the lights again.
