Rare Discus at LFS

Here's a picture of the elusive Black Long Body Discus that I just took at my LFS. Due to it's rarity, it commands quite a high price....they were charging $80!!! The fish can't be more than 2.5" long.

It's hard to convey sarcasm through text. This is actually supposed to be a Blue Diamond. But as unbelievable as it is, they really were charging $80 for this poor little guy. :shocked2: I kind of wanted to rescue it....

I don't waste my money for that kind of fish ... I don't take it even for free

Just because people like to rescue the poor fish, that why the owner don't care much about them

They Just don't realize the needs of a young discus. It's a different fish when it comes to proper care.

I didn't say anything. This non-chain fish store is the closest to me and they have a huge variety of fresh and saltwater fish. They all know me and help me out if I need anything...I did not want to ruin that.
However, this is inexcusable and the next time I see the fish room supervisor, I might just point these out to her.
I wonder where they get these fish from. Is there a cheap mass production market for discus, like there are for some other more common fish?
