Good morning all.. I currently use a python to extract water during w/c and use barrel to refill. I'm trying to figure out if there is something that I can put in the python that would degas the water so I could do away with aging with barrel.. My ph is fine but I need to deal with the degassing Would make life so much easier. Thoughts?? Thanks all!!

If you don't have a large ph swing you shouldn't need the barrel.

Trier20-The barrel is used to degas. If I don't I get a lot of micro gas bubbles which is not good on the fish.

I have the same problem. Some people have used a filter sock for a sump in the end with some results

Other degassing threads here mentioned a filter sock on the end.

Edit: answered while I was reading a thread in another tab. ;)

I don't age my water either. I hang the python above the tank to give the water some hard agitation and let my hob filter run as soon as the water level rises high enough to reach the intake. The far drop for the water helps. The micro bubbles don't attach to their slime coat like before.
