Anyone have this light? I bought this fixture from Kens Fish and it is an intriguing light. It has a remote control which offers a variety of preset color schemes and other effects. So far I like it. I could not find any reviews online but for the price figured it was worth a shot.

I bought one fairly recently as well and am reasonably happy with it. I really don't think it throws enough light though and I have it on a shallow tank. I haven't played around with the remote and different settings much. What setting are you liking?

Nice looking light Pat. Can you get some tank shots with the various light settings so we have a comparison? I was thinking of getting this light as well since the prices have come down considerably in the LED market.

This sounds pretty neat to me...does it have different colored lights then? Does it make your fish look good?

I just watched the video, and it looks very cool.it looks like you can adjust it so slowly go thru colors.
are you gonna try it on a discus tank? I want to know how they react if at all?
but for the price i think it would be a very cool light to have. I just saw a bubble stone that has LED
built into it, but this is awesome. Are you gonna post pics or a lil vid?

Joan, are you using it over a planted tank. For my wilds tank it seems quite nice.

Sure Jeff, I have over a 90 with a 24 inch depth.

Sandy, you can customize the light which pretty cool and yes, the fish look killer.

I already have it on my 90 wilds tank and the fish do not react to my playing with the effects and preset lighting buttons. I will try to get pics or a vid up soon.

You can manually fade or dim the current setting but I am not sure how "programmable" it is.

Personally I think your better of with these, but you can't play around with different colors. Hard to say what to make of the lights you just got as I can't seem to find a lumen rating for them.

That first one is a good light Rick, thanks for posting it. I am concerned with the "2 mode on/off" switch. Since many of us have our lights on timers, I wonder how it would work because you would have to have it in the "on" position for the timers to work that you won't be able to switch the night lights on.

I will have to email that company.

Thats true, if you have a timer you would still have to manually swith it from the normal to the moonlight position, never been a problem for me as I seldom use just the moonlights.

Would the second one in the ebay listing be too bright for Discus? I have a few low light plants too.

I do have it over a planted tank, but it's not really the plants that l think it's not enough for really. I just wish it were brighter. It's on an 18" deep tank. I was going to play around with the different settings, but can't put my hands on the remote right now of course. I have it on a timer and haven't really fussed around with the settings since I got it.

Joan, I had to play with the settings as when I first turned it on it was not bright enough either and I was duly not impressed until I played with it a while.

Thank you Pat for the link.

I think it can sustain a low-tech planted tank for sure. I like the variations too.

That's an interesting video, I guess I need to play around with mine. It's not even close to that bright.

Jeff, I issue with most of the LED fixtures is there is too much blue.

The blues are more designed for reefs. I have a nice one on my reef but it was a lot more expensive.

Can they build you one with mostly whites Pat or is it to late?

Who build one Jeff? I am considering having Nick (Build My LED) build me a fixture for the 230.

I know. I just did not know if it was done already.

I've gotten multiple banks for larger display tanks from buildmyled.com. They've been up and running for 3 to 4 months and working with an apex for dimming.
I keep 'Em dialed down because they are bright.
I really like them and would buy again
