What do heckel f1 go for!

Anybody know what F1 heckels babies go for? Being they are so rare and what not I would guess a pretty penny?

Since there is generally not much of a market for them they normally don't bring anymore than normal run of the mill types.

They barely exist. Not sure they they actually exist in the USA.

That's why I thought they would have such a high price, due to the rarity. Guess not, so it's more of a self satisfaction to breed them more so than anything else

Yeah thought so. last I heard there were only a couple breeders in the world breeding them. I assume if one of the large Asian breeders gets them breeding they will be available and they will have a slightly premium price like Tony tan altum angels.

Oh I'm not trying to get like cheaper ones or smaller or what not pat just wondering in general, I had a nice conversation with mark yesterday and you guys hopefully will be proud come the next month or so lol. I am putting together a little fish room this weekend and plan to breed so I just was seeing if it was worth the hassle in general or if people just did it to see if they could.

Zach, we all have dreams, if you've time and the money to invest, try to breed Heckel X Heckel, to find (if you get it done) it's GREAT to say, I DID IT! but probably will not give you the return what you ever put into it. Little easier, cross a Heckel on a brilliant, red turquoise, etc. Even that will not bring you BIG money but at least there are "lesser" on the market and probably easier to sell,

Lol thanks Hans, I mean its not completely about the money but I know personally I don't have the funds or room for that matter to house and raise hundreds of babies. When I said reds and heckel cross I meant the type of WC heckel crosses you see. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/25/eve4u2yn.jpg

That is the type of fish I hope to end up with along with reds/reds F1s also of course. Obviously the availability of fish like that are limited and hardly owned when you have to pay a high premium. If I do as I plan, I can enjoy seeing the fish I like the most while (if they would breed) also being able to put more and more "different" fish onto the market at a much more reasonable price. I am not a fan of all the domestic strains but fish like the one above do something for me, whether it be the fact that they aren't seen often or that they are just different from all others due to the cross.
