Help!

My discus has not been eating this past week. I have had him for about six weeks. This am I noticed a long light colored stringy substance hanging from his anus. Parasites? What is the best way to treat? All my other discus are happy eating like little piggies.
Thanks.

Sounds like worms. You can you metro but there are more experienced guys here that will tell you how to do it. You are going to have to treat the hole tank as this may spread.

Increase your temp over time to about 31 c and keep water clean

Test your nitrates before your next water change and see if it is high. You can up your water changes for the time being and see if that helps. Treating with metro in a planted tank with substrate and everything will not be as effective.

Should I isolate the fish and treat with metro?

Should I isolate the fish and treat with metro?

When you treat yes you should do it in a bare bottom hospital tank.

Thank you.

I do have 10 gallon hospital tank I will set up this evening. Would it be beneficial for me to treat my other fish who are eating with medicated food as well?
Thank you for the advice.
