I'm installing a Revers Osmosis system tomorrow and have a questions. I'm installing the system to clean up my municipal water.
What I find in my tap:
Ammonia between .25 and .50 ppm
Nitrate around 2.0 ppm
Nitrate between 5.0 and 10.0 ppm
I have a good filtration and two potted plants but they can't keep any of the above levels in check. So, I'm installing RO.
My question is... what percentage of RO would should I use? I was thinking 50% RO and 50% filtered (without RO). I'd achieve this by placing a flow restrictor on the waste water outlet. I know this will reduce the life of my membrane but I'm concerned with using too much water. My water bill is already high.
Suggestions on % of RO???
