Does anyone have a list of things to watch out for when buying a used acrylic tank?
How deep can scratches be and still be repairable? Is repair cost effective?
How can I tell if seems are still strong?
I've never dealt with acrylic and don't know much about it.
It's a 180 gallon and would hate to have it all over my living room.

Thanks in advance, Simply!

Just my opinion:

1. side bow out is not good
2. Hazy is no good
3. bubble at edges where glue is.
4. crack is no good.

as far as scratches, you can't expect high if you pay less. to me if you don't see scratches when fill water up, then it's ok.

Fill it up let sit for 24 hours and see if it leaks. If it has a lot of scratches I would pass. I love my acrylic and would never think about going back to glass.

Thanks guys. Can the haziness be buffed out? I'll post a pic in a little while.

Hazy is not good. How old is the tank? Tank should be crystal clear

Not sure how old. Some spots look cloudy or dirty, can't tell. Don't have any close-ups. I'm going to see it tonight.
