community discus stopped breeding

what do you guys do when you have a community of discus and a pair starts pecking on cone? i tried to move them in their own tank and they basically ignored each other after that? is that normal and how does one "encourage" them again? i tried massive water changes, drop in temp, food, etc... no luck.

bump... anyone have any insights/suggestions? or one just doesnt take a pair out of community?

It takes time for them to adjust to new envrironment. Go light on your daily wc.

Depending on thier age,etc,it can take them more then couple weeks to get thier groove back on.Sometimes they need to see other fish,like having two tanks together and slipping a piece of cardboard inbetween and pulling it out occasionally to get them to be territorial.
